New Year’s Greetings

Best wishes to all for a wonderful 2008, and thanks beyond the telling to the numerous readers who participated in our discussions in the year past. There will be no post on New Year’s day, but we’ll get back to the normal schedule on the afternoon of January 2. Have a wonderful holiday.

    Happy New Year to all, who visit this wonderful site!
    I wish this year to be full with scientific news, reports about the work of many organizations and scientists through the world, which are similar or connected to Tau Zero Foundation. Let’s hope that they will one day, in not distant future, be ready with a breakthrough propulsion system, which will ultimately lead us to the planets, the stars and beyond.

    Paul,
    As a writer myself–one, in fact, hoping to do an SF novel soon–I appreciate the well-turned word and like to think I’m a pretty good judge of my fellow craftsmen, and I just want to say that I’ve never read anyone better at presenting science. The scope of your knowledge is rivaled only by your gift of expressing it in a clear, meaningful, entertaining and heartfelt manner. Whenever I turn to another’s account of an event, I’m reminded that you do it best of all.

    Jerry, you are truly kind, and I thank you for those thoughts. My knowledge is far more limited than you suggest, but I benefit from the work not only of scientists who are willing to pass along their perspectives but also readers who add detail and background to what I have to say. At the broadest level, Centauri Dreams is a team effort involving all these factors, and it’s a delight for me to work on it.

For many years this site coordinated its efforts with the Tau Zero Foundation. It now serves as an independent forum for deep space news and ideas.
